MY ESSENTIAL SKINCARE PRODUCTS

Hello, beauties !

My name is Annisa Putri Larasati.

This is my first post about skincare ‘ever’.

I had a  thought that at the age of 20s women starting to pay attention about skincare (so do I), in order to take care of and respect their skin. Skin is the largest organ you have; it’s the barrier protecting your insides from outside.

Back at school and college, we had so many activities outside. Even the temperature was so hot, we still had to go. And it means we’d be outside a lot, right ?

Let’s go to my story.

Before (teenager age), I had never pay any attention to my skin, especially our face. It has darkened my skin and gave some pimples around my eyes and cheeks. Oh, it also gave me wrinkles too (it’s hard to conceal it).

When becoming 21 years old, mom said something to me.
“ You are a woman now. Don’t you want to take care of your skin, dear ? “

After that, I searched a lot about skincare. I’m a fan of korean drama too, so I searched a lot how to have clear and healthy skin.
Finally, I just got skincare routine that works on me.
Here we go.

      1. Double cleansing (cleanser and face wash)

If we’re wearing a lot of makeup and have been exposed to a lot of pollution, it might be a good idea to use a cleanser first, before face wash. We have micellar cleansing water, milk cleanser etc as our cleanser. So, you have to be patient to find the cleanser product that works on your skin.




  

2. Toner

A toner function is to complete the cleansing of our skin, swaps the the dust or anythinf that can be left after washing with a cleanser and face wash. My toner contains aloe vera extract (moisturizing), zinc gluconate and witch hazel extract (oil control and pore tightening).

      3.  Moisturizer/lotion

Of course, it’s moisturizing. I use a moisturizer that have light formula and watery feel for morning and night skincare routine, and also before applying makeup.

      4. Eye Cream

Starting to use eye cream early will help your eyes looking bright and awake, while reducing dark shadows, minimizing any early morning puffiness and keeping the area moisturized (Tata Harper). I apply eye cream these days and it didn’t make a noticeable difference but it deeply moisturizing that area.

      5.  Sun Protection

Sunscreen works by combining organic and inorganic active ingredients to reflect UV radiation. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, sunscreen with SPF 15 will prevent burning for about 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. So far, I use sunscreen with SPF 30  before going outside and working with computer, tab or smartphone and lip balm with SPF 30 for protecting my lips.

6. Face and lip exfoliation

Face and lip scrub is essential for three reasons, according to Ole Henriksen (founder of eponymous skincare brand), “ firstly, it deeply cleanses yhe skin, dislodging buildup in the pores and helping to break up whiteheads. It also smooths and refines the skin textures, giving it a soft, supple look. And lastly, it enhances blood flow to the face, giving the appearance of a fresh glow,” . I use exfoliating gel for exfoliating my face and lip scrub product (plus olive oil) for exfoliating my lips.

Note : A lot of friends asked me if I use the products like day and night cream, serum, essence and many more. I have ever used day and night cream, but these days I'm too lazy to do it. Serum and essence are good for skin, but I have never try it. All products above are "the essential" for me.

7. And the last, live well

High stress hormone can bring on acne, pimples and even wrinkles. So, take a rest enough, exercise regularly and doing anything to feel positive and happy.
